3rd gen is best looking but 4th gen has v8

I'm 6'0 & 300lbs and I love my 97 limited. I have no issues whatsoever sitting inside or with hitting my head on things. In fact, it's probably one of the most comfortable trucks I've ever owned.
That said, I've never been inside a 4th gen so maybe they are even more comfy.

I would get the one what is cleanest and has the least amount of needed work. Least mileage and least amount of rust. The 4th gens I have seen while searching for a 4Runner have all had more rust than my 3rd gen. All things being equal I think I would now choose a 3rd gen over a 4th gen. But that's just me.
