4Runner 5100s with 99 talls (measurements plz)

Is anyone running the 3rd gen 4runner 5100s with 99 tall springs all the way around? I installed the front 5100s with the 99 talls in the front about 300 miles ago and I am sitting at about 21.75" center hub to fender lip. Currently with 99 tall springs and old worn out monroe shocks in the back I am sitting at 21" center hub to fender lip. I wanted to know if anyone is running 99 talls all around with 3rd gen 4runner 5100s and what their measurement in the back is?

I have an 02 sr5 4wd with the limited flare option. Mainly asking this question to see if I should get the 906 springs for when I install the 5100s in the rear. I don't want the sagging rear end.

*If anyone is interested I have some 3-notch tacoma 5100s for sale with about 300 miles on them* did not like the added length from those.

It's possible your '99 talls have sagged? I measured the rear of my truck and with '99 talls and blown stock Tokicos, wheel center to fender arch is 22.5"

I just bought a set of daystar 1.5" spacers I'm installing this weekend for the rear because I swapped my front 99 talls with OME 881's and there's about a 1" reverse rake now. You might consider a spacer or trim packers if you're not running enough weight in the rear to warrant a 906 or 890.

Just one opinion, I'm sure there are plenty more. Good luck!

Wait, there's a 3rd gen 5100?? I've only heard of running tundra or Tacoma 5100s. I'm running Tacoma 5100s currently. Are you saying there's a new 5100 from Bilstein specific to our trucks?

It is definitely possible that they've sagged in the rear. I just figured the front would sag before the rear due to the added weight and the fronts are like new still. Do you know of a source where I could get a spacer for the rear to temporarily get rid of this sag? I am leaning towards 906s in the rear one I put the billies on back there because I do a decent amount of towing with my 4Runner. TRD transmission cooler has helped a ton with that since it was installed years ago. It's too bad these didn't come with one from the factory or maybe a better radiator.

Maybe a dumb question but will 4th gen rear springs fit in the 3rd gen rear? Only reason I ask is a guy down the road from me has an extra set he could give me.

That's a good amount of lift from 99 talls. I am running 906's and measure 23" from hub to arch.

OP, I think you will like the 906's. Gives fair amount of lift, the springs are more in weight(towing) and cheaper than new 99 talls. Just my $.02

Does anyone know what the actual hub to fender height of a new stock truck is? I've heard its 21" for the 99 and 20" for other model years but I feel like that sounds too low.

My '98 was 20" front and 20.5" rear.

But for $127 more and just as much labor as it takes to install spacers, you could have 906 or 890s. If you tow I'd recommend going with an OME spring in the rear vs. spacer-ing '99 talls. If cost is a concern though, $40 for 1.5" spacers ain't bad.

That's what I thought. I measured it two nights ago in response to another post on here. The springs themselves are less than 5000 miles old, perhaps they haven't settled 100% yet?

I have 99 front springs on tundra 5100 at the 3rd perch

the rear is 906 springs with tundra rear 5100...

I like the ride and height... although now it's settled, I should take new measurements... check my build thread...

overall 2inch in front and 1.5 lift in rear from my 99 talls. to 906...

I measured from ground, but changed my tires since.

I was using the 99 Springs with my Monroe shocks which I had to get rid of bc they were awful. So the 99 Springs have probably 50,000 miles on them but are still like brand new. It is a lot of lift from 99 tells and 3rd Gen 5100s I don't get it. Will measure today to see if it settled.
