My question came from that point of view as I already know the answer, and it’s surprising. It’s a little challenging to make an apples to apples comparison due to trim levels, but let’s use this example as a starting point.
2020 Tundra SR5 Crewmax 4x4 has a payload of 1560 lbs for a curb weight of 5640 lbs.
2020 4Runner SR5 4x4 has a payload of 1625 lbs for a curb weight of 4675 lbs.
Yes you can get eek out a few more lbs of payload if you go to the stripper 4x2 Tundra, but that’s not really a valid comparison.
If you need to tow something, sure, Tundra hands down but otherwise there’s no advantage and a lot of disadvantages.

It's whoever owns the copyright to the Elanor name from Gone in 60 Seconds. There's a cool youtube channel I like to watch called B is for Build. He built an Elanor, and got the vehicle taken away from him. It's literally just because he named it and put it out in public. They copywrite holder doesn't hold the look, just the name. It's so stupid imo.
