4Runner delivery hold

GST Shipyard.

I know when I ordered my S-Runner it came from California via Rail to the GST shipping yard. From there they ship out on a regular truck to the dealerships. With you being in Texas and it is already at GST yard it should take no longer than 2 days to have it at the dealership for you. Don't get me wrong some dealerships do not give a damn. I had to go to 3 dealerships before one would get what I wanted.
 
-dealership dropped the ball and someone else got your truck
-dealership found out that they could sell your truck for 15k markup on fleabay and is desperately trying to rip people off
-internet sales guy got busted on coke charges, no one else has the password to his computer but it's likely cokeonstripperboobs69
-some other dealer managed to convince/con Toyota in getting more inventory than they deserve--see ebay
-endangered species of blowfish used in making orange paint just placed on "critically endangered" list by the UN, Toyota execs committed suicide in shame, all unsold TRD Pros given Viking funeral
-asking people with a 2 day attention span to keep an eye on an order that takes weeks to months is like telling a toddler that he can have 10 cents today or 50 bucks in a week

edit: if you're in Tejas, they might be quickly fixing the ones that got heavily dusted in that Denver hailstorm recently, not reporting to CARFAX (because that site is a scam), and sell busted-ass trucks as new

I can confirm the hold is not because of the rails, and that the Stealership is "sorta" telling the truth. Been on hold for a little over a week. I really can't elaborate more, but yes all the TRD Pro 4Runners across the country are held up at port. Only ones you can get a hold of are either in transit (meaning left the port) via rail, truck, or sitting on the lot. What the dealership tells you is their choice, but the distributor would have informed the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Hmmm wouldn't it be interesting if a new member registered by the name of "MJ4Runner" and anonymously gave the actual reason they were on "hold." Since you can't elaborate more, and this new member was providing details you would be in the clear... :shrug:

Ha, that would be interesting. I will notify as soon as I can when they start shipping. Sadly, The dealer I was going through is on this wait too and the truck just dropped on Tuesday. Could have had it this weekend! Trying to work a backhaul deal from ATL now it seems.
 
Does this hold have anything to do with the actual trd pro 4Runner; i.e. Recall, parts etc or is it simply transport or sales issue?

Is it because the port mechanics who can't bolt a trailer hitch to a truck botched the suspension install, or is it that the suspension sometimes needs a bit of fabrication to fit properly, i.e. it's not a straight bolt on if you want it to be and look 100%?

Not sure about the mechanics at the port where the issue was found. As I mentioned, we tried to duplicate it here and could not. In the meantime... They will sit :ybrick:

I love the color, but I am not sure if after 2 months the general lee look would still be as exciting or annoying.

I have been told the same thing. Was told mine has been at the port in Houston for 2 weeks and should be in by today. Been giving the dealer grief because I already traded in my Tundra last weekend and I am in a rental for the time being. It is really frustrating. I am being told TMS (Toyota Motor Safety) is inspecting the TRD Pro's due to the front tire hitting the bumper or something.

That sucks that you already made your trade and now are on hold.

The front tire hitting the bumper doesn't make sense to me. It has stock size wheels and tires with a small lift in the front, there shouldn't be any clearance issues up front.
 
No wonder why my dealer has not given me any updates this past week. The time-frame they quoted for delivery is next week.

I guess they caught the issue after they delivered the first few. Wondering if there are any bulletins for service around an issue with TRDP's.
