I am buying an 07 in June. I would be interested in the opinions of owners who have the factory sound system(s). Thanks.

JBL 10 speaker system

you wont regret it if you get the jbl 10 speaker system. the sound quality and fidelity is way better than the 6 speaker system.

you cant go wrong with this set up as a factory sound system.

I sure wish I hadn't paid extra for the JBL 10 speaker system! I'd go for the bare bones system if had to do again. Everything seems to be proprietary and costly. The rear sub woofer can barely be heard - I had to double check to ensure it was even installed. System really had very limited power too (I'm old guy not a hip-hopper!). The JBL amp in rear pops on and off ($400 or so to replace it) plus my rear seat wireless system is not working. If you go barebones you can yank it and either go with the SCION unit (made by Pioneer and quite reasonably priced for features it offers) or a high end aftermarket and save probably 50% of OEM cost.

Thanks for the input.(no pun intended). I like the fact that as you say you can replace the bare bones one and can add nav at that time for well under the $2500 that Toyota wants for the Nav. However integration, rear back up camera and bluetooth may make me choose it. As to the radio, In my 974R I replaced the factory radio with a pioneer and the sound quality is significantly better not just in base and treble response but in details. Thanks again.
