4runner for sale

Ok, my sister has a 2000 4runner, 2wd, 4 cyl. with 148,000 miles. She wants to sell it and she lives in O.C.. Ive told her to skip the 150k mile service, set her price and sell it as is. Currently, someone (my other sister and her husband) wants to buy it as is for 5000 bucks. Sister 1 wants to do the service and try and sell it and get 6000 bucks.. I told her that dumping the $$ in for the service doesnt mean that shell get that money back, or get close to 6000.
I think she should be stoked at 5000 as is. What do you all think, get the service or not???

Being that it is both 2WD and 4cyl I would think getting $5000 for it would be a good price for your sister.
Id sell it for $5000 and forget the service.

I would think that you would have to smoke some crack to pay $5000 for a 4cyl., 2WD, 148K 4runner. But if you're cool with ripping off family, or they are willing to pay that much.... ummm go for it.

I was trying to sell my 98' supercharged runner at the end of 2008 for $7500 @ 145K, 4wd, and single owner in Dallas. One guy came to check it out b/c he loved runners too, but he just wanted to ride in it.

So glad that it never sold, now I get dealerships offering to buy it...:violin:

yeah, i told sister 2 that 5 grand is too much to pay... im gettin out of this and lettin them deal with it... thanks for the input everyone...

Doing the service before selling it makes no sense. Not only will she have to go through the hassle of taking it in, I doubt she'd get her money back even increasing the asking price.


Also, unless that 4runner is mint, and I mean essentially flawless condition with all maintenance records then $5,000 is more than enough.

You can get 4wd v6's for that price where I am with that mileage.
