On Monday my Runner left me stranded on the highway. Not too sure what the problem is yet, but one of the hoses came off, causing my radiator fluid to leak all over which then caused my Runner to overheat and shut off.

Guesses right now are the water pump, possibly a head gasket. I'm going to get a new pump put in on Saturday probably, which can't come soon enough because I miss driving her! And I need to clean her up :(

Did the Coolant Guage not show it was overheating?

Usually you are supposed to shut the car off at first signs of it overheating, and never waiting for it to shut itself down.

Yea it showed it overheating, by the time I noticed it was too late. And I was on the highway trying not to cause an accident.

If you are doing water pump might be a good time to do timing belt as they are recommended at 100,000 miles. and if I'm not mistaken involve a lot of repeat labor if you do them separately, just a thought.
