4Runner is Dead

Got into an accident this past Sunday where woman t-boned my '02 4Runner. Looks like it's going to be totaled out.
I'm looking to get another 4Runner but wanted to know which year it was that they started making them a little wider.
Would like to have my 4Runner back but with 2 kids since I got it, I need a little more breathing room in there.
If someone can let me know, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

That would likely be 5th gen, 2010 and up. The 4th gen was maybe a tad wider but my wife 5th gen is easier 10" wider it feels like lol.

4th and 5ths have a lot more space. My kids are real happy with my wifes 2012 Tacoma purchase. Overall more space, more power, smoother driving. Jumping back in the 3rd gen this morning was sad after driving her truck for 4 days.

They started adding 3rd row seats in 2005 I think, I was looking into this once we outgrow my wife's sedan.

But yeah, any newer car is bigger. But that's why I like my 98, it fits in compact parking and is very narrow, plus nobody in my family is on the larger side, so it doesn't really matter to have wide seats and all that.
