Totally. Stock vehicle to the bone. I actually won the bet whether I was going to have to shovel it or not because the neighbors X5 and CRV had to shovel theirs out. I think it was the diff lock and the ground clearance that saved the day for the 4runner vs the neighbors SUVs. Very impressive.

I wish I had videos of our trip to the arctic circle where we had to drive for 600 kms on unplowed gravel road to get there (No cell phone service and no second emergency vehicle). Nobody wanted to get out and take videos in -51C but I remember the amazing performance of this truck. If we got stuck or broke down, we would've died. I owe this truck big time.

It doesnt look like the diff lock was engaged - the driver had no time to engage it unless he parked it locked.

That truck does not have a diff lock , unless it's aftermarket. 4th gen 4x4's did not have them.

I meant the center differential lock. My 2003 4runner Limited has a factory center diff lock. Works wonders with ATRAC in deep snow. Is it because it is a Canadian truck?

Haven't gone rock crawling ever so can't comment on its performance there. But have never been let down in extreme snow situations (steep hill climbing in >1 foot of snow etc.). Does anyone know how fast you can go in 4HI with center diff locked?
