4Runner makes an odd noise

My truck starting making an odd noise at random times. This has been going on for several months. The noise will start and last for a few minutes, then stop. If I turn the truck off, then turn it back on, it won't start back up. I can feel a vibration through the brake pedal when the noise occurs. I haven't noticed a change in the truck's driving or braking since the noise occurred. Can anyone tell me what this is?

It sounds like a belt or a bearing to me. I suggest you take it to a trusted mechanic get a diagnosis for $40 and then come back to the forum to see if it is something you can do yourself.

I doubt anyone can diagnose this problem over the internet given what you have provided.
