Depends, I wouldn't think they would be dragging a 4Runner up on to a flatbed from someones driveway yeah, thats pretty stupid. At least find one out in some corner of an airport parking lot or something!
The serious guys have people on the inside to cut keys or make fobs, or they are simply grabbing keys from the front of a persons home, warm up thefts, follow you to the gym and get your keys from a locker etc.
Mine was stolen back in October, with street parking there was no room for a flat bed so must of been the key fob cloner device. Basically pings the key fob for the code/signal then relays it to the runner and they just drive off. It was limited. At least I got 3 grand less than what I paid for it brand new three years before.
