O.k. I bought a '93 4runner that had been rolled, (with a new motor, trany, transfer case). I bought a '95 4runner that had a locked up engine. Both were 3.0 V-6, auto, 4X4. The project started over the Memorial weekend, I pulled the the bad motor out, and then the trany/transfer case from the 4runner that I was going to drive. then pulled the same out of the rolled one, quick note, the rolled one did run, and drove it off the trailer, and into the shop were I was doing the work. I also pulled the wiring harness of the good motor, the computer, and the igniter/coil from the good motor. Put all of that into the other 4runner, ran the harness through the firewall, installed the computer from the donor truck, hooked up the harness to the computer, hooked everything else up. And NOTHING. Everything was working, fuel, starter, ect.... But no fire from coil to distributer. Have power to coil, but no fire leaving coil. Had coil tested, magnetic pick up in distributer, everything. IT ALL TESTED GOOD...
O.K. For some reason I don't have a check engine light on in the truck, not injector noice while cranking, and of course NO FIRE...
What am I missing??? Checked all my grounds, and fuses, under dash, and under hood. I have taken the truck to a shop, and they have worked on it for 3 days. with no luck, and they are about to use my truck for an anchor on a really big boat.
Please if anyone has ran across this problem during a motor swap, I would love to hear from them.
Thanks, burns142
