4runner pulley damage.

Hey guys. can you check if i need to change my pulley because of that chip? i dropped while pulling it forget to hold it.

I'd probably replace it myself, depending on how much it costs. If you're going to stick with that one, I'd take a grinder or file to it, and knock off the sharp edges, then take out an equal sized chunk from the other side to bring it back into balance.

i would replace it. Dont need the front of your motor to be out of balance and mess something else up. My 2 cents.

Our crankshafts are balanced internally, and the pulley is a balanced unit as well. I guess an ounce of missing metal might not make itself apparent at low RPM's but it's just like balancing a tire; even a half ounce can vibrate harshly at higher RPM's. I would get a new one.

I wouldn't worry about it. Someone tried to pull the pulley without a puller! I have the same thing but it is about 6 years now. I don't feel any issue with it.
