I have determined that the Decoupler pully has gone bad on my 2010 4Runner Trail Edition. I ordered a replacement pully and the removal/installation tool for the pully. I tested the tool on the replacement unit and this seems simple enough to replace.
(I really wish I would have known about these Decoupler Pulley's back in 2018 when I replaced the alternator thinking it had gone bad. The current symptoms are EXACTLY what was happening back then, but I wasn't aware of these decoupler pulley's and how they functioned)

Today I decided to tackle the task of changing it after finally getting tired of listening to the noise and watching the voltage drop when the pully system begins slipping.
When I pulled the plastic protective cap from the pulley I discovered a different brand pully on the alternator (Zen 5503) which requires a different tool . Luckily the tool kit I purchased seems to have the right equipment to do both. I did check and it appears both pulleys are interchangeable.
The splines from the holding nut-tool clamp in perfectly, however it seems as there isn't ANYTHING on the inside of the pully on the alternator shaft, for the other part of the tool to grab onto. I am not even able to see any splines for either a torx or hex tool to fit into the alternator shaft. Is anyone familiar with this zen brand and the removal of this pulley? I've even found a video from the Zen manufacturer site, and it appears as if I have the correct setup for removal, but nothing on the internals to grab onto.
