Toyota 4Runner

How could we not include a sport-utility with a button marked "Party Mode" on the dashboard? The 2011 Toyota 4Runner has plenty of fine attributes, but avid tailgaters will love this one very cool little feature.

With the rear tailgate open, a push of the "Party Mode" button pumps up bass levels while shifting stereo output to the rear speakers. There is also an optional slide-out cargo deck that can serve as a dining table.

The truck-based 4Runner is more rugged than many car-oriented crossovers and SUVs — not a bad thing if towing and off-road prowess are priorities. The 4Runner is available with 2- and 4-wheel drive, and a choice of a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder or 4.0-liter V-6 engines.

A base 4Runner starts at approximately $27,500. Choose your options wisely, since the price can jump to over $40,000 for the 4Runner Limited model with V-6. After all, you'll want to have cash leftover to stock up on essentials like, say, magnetic drink cozies — one of this season's hottest selling items, according to the folks at The American Tailgater Company
