4runner thumbwheel brightness

just a quick question, does the thumbwheel (button that adjust brightness) suppose to be illuminated when headlight is on? i had a case of rodent and i can't remember if it was or not. thanks

No. It’s not illuminated. Windshield heater switch is the only one there that has a backlight. Inverter has indicator when it’s switched on.
