4Runner + tree / storm = no bueno.

Welp...just as I thought, the insurance company totaled it and are now trying to pull a fast one on me. They offered me $8818 flat out, or $6300 if I kept it. That doesn't include my $500 deductible. I just sent in a nicely worded eff you letter regarding their offer. I told them what the NADA and KBB value was as well as sent them some examples of the exact same truck within a 100 mile radius. That price is a couple thousand off several other identical trucks in the area. KBB private party value is Very Good condition is $10,185...the Good Condition is $9885. NADA Clean Retail in $11,000. I was told they pull their values from JD Power & Associates...go figure. Waiting to see what they say in regards to my email.

Way to stand up to your insurance company! I've heard they always low ball the first offer.

Glad no one was hurt.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Bottle jack and 2x4 will push that right back in shape. :zoom:

+1 I would actually try this. I would first take out the side window and see what you could do with it or what a good body guy could do. I have one who can fix anything. And since you mentioned it you can now do what you want with it. I Kone if your anal about your vehicles like I am it may not do.

I actually tried the bottle jack idea yesterday but used a sledge hammer handle instead. I stayed away from the window though. I'm going to be driving it for another month or so till I buy the new pickup. It certainly doesn't look new...but it looks a whole lot better!!
