4Runner w/ Urban Runner Package Questions

I'm in the market for a 4Runner Sport, (07-09) and am considering the Urban Runner package. Aside from the alacantra, the black side steps and roof rack and tomtom gps, are there any other changes? Tracking down a nicely used Sport is hard enough, is it worth waiting for an Urban Runner to come around? Thanks for helping our a noob to the forum.

18" limited wheels and only a couple of color options. it has the xreas suspension which comes on sport and limited models. i believe all are V6 models. other than this and what you listed, i don't recall any other options. the V6 is what made me purchase my 08 over the 09 urban runner, i wanted the V8. you won't go wrong either way.

thanks for the reply. How have you liked the V8? I think I found the exact sport I'm looking for with the V8. They are asking $31,400 which seems a bit high imo. It's an 08 with 32k miles. Thoughts anyone?

^^ Those are the specs^^. I have the Urban Runner. It's what made me buy the 4Runner. Most differences are the blacked out trim in and out, and IMO, helps the looks a lot. Alcantara is the best as you never slip on it and it is super easy to clean. Removable tom tom is nice to just hide it or use it when you go hiking and stuff. I don' think there are many of them out there, so it will be your decision if you wanna wait around for one. Any 4runner is a great and smart buy. Good Luck

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Looking back I wish I would have just bought one new last year. They really hold their value. My ex bought an 04 in the spring of 08, have put 30k miles on it and it's worth the same amount today.

Yessir, any 4Runner will hold their value really well for many years to come. I bought new as well as I am gonna keep mine for 10 years and getting the UrbanRunner package for me ensured that I won't have to shop around for blacked out trim etc. To each his own, I am into blacked out trim, others are into chrome, get what makes you happy. Either way, They never break and stand up to pets, winters, offroading, towing really well.

i have absolutely loved my V8. i bought it just over a year and a half ago and it has been nothing short of incredible. that price does seem a bit high though. i bought my 08 V8 limited, loaded to the gills, with 22,000 on it for right around $31,900 in april of 09. either one you get, you won't go wrong

I just traded my 07 sr5 v6 4wd for a lightly used 08 sport v8 4wd. Mine has 15k on the clock and was able to pick it up from the dealer with the extended toyota platinum warranty to 100k for $28,500. For me I thought it was a fair price considering that they dont put those 4.7 in the 5th generation, and that the one I picked up was very clean with low miles. Having driven both engines, the v8 is very smooth, very strong, and tons of fun when you combine the sport x-reas suspension. Its also very thirsty, probably because I cant seem to keep my foot of the gas. Good luck to you.

:iagree: Its V8 or nothin!

The more I think about it, the more getting the V8 sport makes sense. What kind of real world MPG do you all get. I know my friend's with the V6 can get mid twenties on the highway if they aren't pushing it.

I have to agree the price of the used Sport sounds a tad high. Just about exactly one year ago, I bought a brand new 2009 Sport V6 for $33,500. While it wasn't a V8, it did have every option except NAV.
