4runner wipers

hey guys, Im new to my 05 4runner limited and love it but I have a gripe...
It might be stupid and seem petty but I cant believe the wipers do not have a
"mist" function?? On all the other toyotas I have ever owned they all had a "mist" function for the wipers. meaning when you just want to wipe the windshield one time all you had to do was either pull or push the wiper stalk and it was spring loaded and would return to off.
the 4runner does not seem to have this function, as I need to turn them on and then manually return the stalk to off. I know this seems petty but I really do miss this feature.

Not sure if I'm misreading the statement but on my right stalk that controls the wipers, I can pull it towards me and the wiper function "mists" the windshield. Is this what you mean?

I agree 95supra. I noticed the missing 'bump for one swipe' missing too.

yes that is the function Im talking about. If I pull my wiper stalk towards me it sprays the washer fluid and wipers swipe 2 times. what I would like is if you pulled it and it wiped one time and did not spray the fluid. kinda sucks not having that feature unless the later 4runners, past 05' has it?

Most cars/SUVs have this, the 4Runner, for whosoever dumb idea it was to omit it, does not. Like most, I turn the stalk downward for 1 sec and return it to the off position. My cheapo Civic has this (MIST feature: pull up on stalk to activate ONE wipe).

Ok I understand what you mean now! and yes it bothers the hell out of me too. My old car I could just bump the stalk now and it would swipe once but now I have to click it to the first setting and then click it off after it swipes. IMO the first wiper setting on my 4R is too fast for a light sprinkle

Bump for how dumb it is that this feature isn't on the 4th gen. The push to wipe on the wiper stalk is sorely missed in my 06'.
