4runner wont idle

Well while coming home from work yesterday the check engine light, vsc trac light, and vsc off light all came on. So I went over to autozone to have the code pulled and it came up with a p0440 or gas cap not on tight. Thought that was funny but said ok and undid the cap and put it back on but the light was still on. The car still ran great and operated great but those three lights were still on. Went home and pulled the neg batery terminal to reset the code, wait 3 mins and reconect the terminal. I went to start the car and it starts fine goes up to 1k rpm but then drops all the way down and dies. I can press the gas pedal and it will rev up fine but whenever I let off the gas it wont idle and just dies. Any idea on sensors or is something up with the computer? I thought possibly a iac valve but I just called the toyota dealer here to get a part number and he said there is no iac valve on a 03 v8. The only thing he had would be the full throttle body.

whenever i disconnect the batt my 4runner always runs kinda rough. i always do like 2 0-40 runs and everything levels out fine.

those lights do come on from a loose or bad gas cap, if u have no other codes, since its an 03, id suggest u clean the maf sensor , use seafoam, & get a new gas cap, then reset ecu again. if still not ok, get the codes pulled again.
