4Runner won't start, kills batteries

4 runner has been running well for a while, but recently i went to start it and it wouldn't even turn over. I put a new battery in it, and it ran fine for a around a week or two, now that its been sitting for another week or so, its back to not turning over. When I try to jump it, it turns over once, then starts clicking rapidly. Any help is appreciated.

EDIT:Its an 01 with a 3.4L

Sounds like your alternator is faulty. Have a mechanic check to see if your charging system is working properly before you replace your battery again.

When you hear the clicking, it usually means there is not enough battery power. I would look into the alternator as well.

I had this same problem (car not starting after sitting for a couple days), but no clicking or anything when I turn the key... radio and ac fan working. Going to have battery tested. Any other ideas?...
