Hey Guys/Gals...
Just got back from a week in Sedona, AZ with the Wife, and had a lot of fun negotiating some very technical trails in a rental Jeep TJ in the area. Broken Arrow, Soldiers' Pass, and Diamondback Gulch were the most fun that can be had wearing clothes!
I live back East, so obviously my '97 'Runner sat lonely in my driveway while I lived the life out West. (Wifey & I had so much fun we're moving to Phoenix next year, but that's an unrelated discussion for another time!)
My question is for anyone who has wheeled their Toyota in that area, hopefully on one of the above mentioned trails specifically. How'd you do? It seemed to me that most of the trails I was on were tailored to the extremely short wheelbase of the Jeeps; I saw only Wranglers and one Discovery, no Toys or any other makes/models for that matter. I found myself wishing I had my 4Runner there to take on Broken Arrow; I'm sure I would've come out with a few dings and the skid plates would've gotten quite a workout, but I would've loved to have tried it.
I'm sure a lifted 'Runner w/ 33"s would do fine, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried any of these well-known trails in a mostly stock 3rd Gen. My mods include Bilsteins and BFG ATs, but my suspension is stock height.
Anyone out there wheeled in AZ? Feedback?
PS- Look for me wheelin' out West by next June...if you're in that area, let's hook up...
