Does any one have any current info on winch systems to install without having to use a new bumper I heard that some people put the winch plate and winch behind the stock bumper and just cut in a small opening for the winch fairleads
also there is a way to put it behind the grill and just cut the grill on the bottom for the front of winch fairlead and cable
I would appreciate any info I can get
the truck shops locally have very little info or parts on Toyotas

This option ^ sits kinda low. I had a receiver hitch on my last 4runner, but wasn't thrilled with this setup on my '15 - so I'm going with my own custom hidden winch mount.

most of what goes behind the bumper replaces the aluminum bumper which is at the bottom, so won't be behind the grill. Some people have done them with the 14-15 models, I think they look better on the 10-13's because they have the opening there.
