4th gen 4R Good First Car?

Hi everyone,
In a few months I will be getting my drivers license and will be in need of a car. I'm a huge car/truck guy and I love the 4th Generation 4Runner. My question is if a 2008 4Runner 4x4 with the 4.0L would make a good first car. My dad has an 2008 Tacoma 4x4 Sport with the 4.0L and it has given him no problems so far (besides a snapped rear leaf spring) at 255,000 miles. Is there anything I should look for when buying one of these used with 120k-135k miles?

Even though you don't have one (yet), I would post this in the 4th-gen section of the forum. You'll get a lot more 4th-gen specific owners who can answer any questions you have. But generally speaking, all generations of 4Runner's are dead reliable and unless you don't mind MPG in the teens, I can't think of a single reason why they wouldn't make a good first car. I have a 5th-gen Trail Edition which has been my first long term car and it's been great.
