Thanks, I actually got it to work.

I try on the passenger side seat, grind off all the feet from the 3rd gen seat.
I only weld 1 feet on the 4th gen seat rail, I made the bracket for all the rest of the bracket.
It fits perfect n it slides nicely.

Yeah, I was just going to revisit this and try to get it to work. That's great that you got it done! Any advice or picts would be super cool.

There are better fits as far as size, color, material and rail width. The newer seats are wider, come in different color combo nations and use completely different materials. 4th gen seats are also built with similar mounting points except the key one which is the rear inward which bolts to the floor in newer trucks and to the tunnel in older.

I just put upper and lower replacement genuine leather replacement covers in my 2000LTD with oak interior, and they are a perfect match in both pattern and color. While I was in there, I replaced both foam lowers and added seat heaters.

The OEM seats look absolutely factory fresh now. If I had to do it a second time, I could do the whole project on a Saturday afternoon easily.

3rd gen seats are awful and kill my back even on short trips. Even the lowest mile seats I could find still left me basically riding on the seat frame with little to no lumbar support, so far I've swapped the camry seats, inifiniti QX4 seats, pathfinder seats and a set of Sparco buckets in, all of which have been better than factory.

I couldn't find anyone making a new back or "upper" foam, but they do make the lowers. After I got the new one in, I felt like I was sitting 4 inches higher in the truck and I remembered how I barely fit inside when I first got it.

That would certainly fix the "riding on the seat frame" issue.

It's been a couple of years since I checked, but was still available from Toyota at that point.

I have to agree with [MENTION=90352]UnderFire[/MENTION] that the seats are not comfortable.

My problem with them is that the foam has broken down: Most specifically the driver's side bolster from getting in and out. When we bought our truck, Cliff, at 340k miles we immediately replaced the seats with 200k old seats for big improvement.

I really should have taken pictures before tossing them.

I guess getting foams is an option as well.

Or BMW F30 seats.

how much did this whole project run you if you dont mind me asking?

I get the feeling that a lot of people dont want to drop the coin to refurb old seats when others that can be found cheap are available. I considered recovering my factory seats but the cost of one lower cover was more than i paid for a pair of classified murano seats that are a pretty close match. Even lucked into butt warmers and electric driver.
My 4R seats werent the least comfortable but these are a decade newer and you can feel it.
