I'm currently in the process of removing my stereo from my old lexus to install in my 03 4R. Here's what I have:
HU: Nakamichi CD-45Z or Alpine CDA-9887 (have both, can't decide which to install)
Front/rear: components with 18dB/octave crossovers Bravox CS60K
Capacitor 1.5F
Amp -Phoenix Gold XS4300
Sub Amp - Phoenix Gold ZX600 Ti
Sub - Phoenix gold 12"
I'll be running one 2 AWG wire to each amp. Its overkill, but i want the least loss possible. My setup really isn't for bumping, just CRISP sound at low to moderate levels.
Where have others installed their amps? I don't want to mount on the rear seat backs because i don't want to lose cargo room. I looked under the rear seats, and that doesn't seem to have enough room for amps. Has anyone tried under the front seats or under interior panels?
Where have those of you with the JBL system mounted your tweeters? Also, are there any precautions i need to take before disconnecting the battery (i think i saw a TSB somewhere about battery disconnection)?
