(4th Gen) Anyone elses center dash tray rattling?

The big door under the radio, in front of the cup holders. Mine rattles constantly so today I put a plastic baggy over the latch mechanism and forcibly closed it with it on. Rattle went away but now it won't open. :arrow: LOL. I don't really use this storage area for anything so it's no big deal but is there any better way of fixing this? My local stealer is useless. No TSB available.

I've never had a problem with mine and I've removed it at least 20 times from getiting behinid the dash...

I removed mine and mounted a clinometer there. No rattles before that though.

mine doesn't rattle either. have you taken the console apart? if so maybe you didn't put it together correctly.

nope didn't take it apart. it's been rattling since i bought the truck. sounds like maybe i got a defective latch/door. oh well. dealer won't fix it so i guess im screwed.

Dealer won't fix it? Are you serious? I'd be so far up the service manager's ass it wouldn't be funny or sweet smelling for a long time...

Show him another truck and show him that the other trucks don't have the problem.

No problem with mine, and I use it every time I gas up. I keep a log of all gas purchases and service performed in the storage area and it works fine.

same here.. but I now I put it in my PPC. In regards to the rattle.. there shouldn't be one as it clicks into place. Have the service manager look at it and tell them.... for that price, the storage compartment shouldn't rattle.
