4th gen ashtray lid

Miy ashtray lid won't stay closed for some reason, anyone have this problem? if so, were you able to fix it?

If you are talking about the one next to the gear shift that opens up and down. I had the same problem. There is a sping thing or something. Anyway, I told the dealer and they had to replace the whole console as it is one piece.

yeah that's the one. Wonder if it is covered under the standard warranty

I had the same problem, their is a little metal pin inside that was bent. I prob could have bent it back, but I was able to swap my ashtray for someone who upgraded to the cig lighter ashtray. It is not one piece, you can swap out just the ashtray itself.

mine was the standard cubby hole thing with the outlet 115v. the lid broke and they had to replace the whole console. infact they did it twice because they dinged up the new one putting it in. maybe since the time mine broke, middle of last year, they have changed/re-designed it.

btw...yes they replaced it under standard warranty.

Mine was broke when I picked it up new. I did not realize it at the time I think people tried to pry it open instead of pushing on it to release it. I took it apart , fixed the bent pin and put the spring back in place. It has worked fine for 4 years.
