Eventually. Need to do the exhaust first, then the lift, then new wheels, then the Kings. My wallet is screaming already! lol $7500 later... :hiding:

Hi,
Hopefully someone has some insight into this issue I am curious about.
2004 sr5 2x4, with 88k miles on it (just picked up a couple weeks ago).
The truck is fine, feels good, but when i slowly accelerate from a dead stop, the first to second shift is very noticeable. Most noticeable when in heavy traffic and just coasting to above 11mph when it shifts to 2nd gear. If i accelerate with more veracity from a dead stop it is far far less of an issue.
The 2nd to 3rd shift is about 10-20% as noticeable as the previous, and the rest are not at all.
Is this a sign of just an 11 year old t4r nearing 100k?
Fluids are good, nothing seems a miss, but I did see more about the zerks and ujoints needing upkeep that could cause the 'thump', but this isn't when coming to a stop, so I was a bit confused.

I agree i feel the best deal all around is to get go to a WalMart and get their battery. If you have a problem during it's warranty just go to any WalMart and get it replaced.
I used to buy Sears DieHards till they drove me crazy demanding to check my electrical system and run this one hour test on old battery. This when i did not use any warranty,just wanted a new battery.
Then tried Autozone guy tried giving me just any battery just to make a sale,i just walked out and went to WalMart.
I now use WalMart batteries in all my autos and Trucks. You'r always near a WalMart.:lmao:

I know exlxactly what you're talking about. It feels like it lurches into gear, its normal. Every Toyota with the 5 speed does it.
Not so, mine shifts through all gears w/o and lurching at 195k miles.
Okay, you win- your experience shows mine does lurch but I haven't ever noticed. :lmao:

I'm having this weird noise coming from the front end of my 2005 SR5 4wd Runner. It sounds like its coming from the Axle but I'm not completely sure of it yet. I'm kind of a rookie when it comes to diagnosing problems, but I found a video on YouTube that describes my exact problem that I'm having. I've done some research on the forum, but I'm not 100% sure if this is the clunk noise everyone is talking about when it comes to CV axles going out. I think it is. I'll let ya'll tell me if so.

Looking for Galactic gray rear bumper

Has any one used the new Contura XIV rocker switches from OTRATTW? I'm curious if they sit flusher like OEM's or if they're like the other Contura styles.

Hey all new on here and searched a little found this thread and had some questions.....
Currently looking to get either a 3rd Gen or 4th gen 4runner. I've found one of each local I want to look at. The 3rd Gen is a stock 2002 original owner SR5 4X4 with 100k and the guy wants around 8k for it no prof of any maintenance etc. But looks to be in good shape.
The 4th gen is 2004 a SR5 v8 4x4 with 160k on it listed for 9k has a 3 inch toytec lift and some wheels and tires mostly stock has some maintenance records(timing belt, brakes etc) 3rd owner.
Both have clean carfax reports I'm leaning towards the 4th as I think with it being a little newer the creature comforts might be a little nicer but can't get past the 160k miles vs the 100k. Any input from you all would be awesome hope to be in a 4runner shortly.
