4th Gen Common Problems Question

I'd really like something new but the V8 is just too good to say goodbye to.
Those V6's have to work their little heart out at high rpm to make power.

The Lexus version (V8) of the 4Runner is nice, but twice the price. How can they justify that price? Lots of mink or gold ?

There is no question about 2UZ beat 1gr in terms of Reliability and longevity... 1 GR engine has more problems such as knocking, timing chain , no iron cylinders walls , and very common Head gasket problems ...

220k on my V6 4x4 4th gen, only issues have been torn CV boots, a dragging rear caliper and honestly the worst thing is the clear coat is peeling everywhere. Started on the hood, now there are some points on the roof where it’s coming up. Nautical blue in the Florida sun, nothing is going to last long down here.
