I installed the Hella 500's and did not want to cut a hole in the dash to use the switch they provide.
I tried using a flip switch that I fit into the T4R dummy switch but that looked less then perfect.
The Manhattan Beach Toyota dealer recommended that I use the switch from the Tacoma.
The fog light switch for the 03 to 06 Tacoma fits into the dummy port on my 05 T4R and is identical to the other stock buttons in the dash to the left of the steering wheel.
There is a guide on the switch that prevents it from popping directly in. The top guides match but you will need to create a 1/8" notch/guide on the bottom. The notch will be on the back part of the switch port and covered by the switch. I used my soldering iron and just melted it (5 seconds and done) and that worked well.
The location of the notch will be obvious when you see the switch.
There are four connections with the left two as open/close for 12v to the relay and the right two connections are for ground and 12v from dash lights. You can splice into the dash light lead from the next switch over so that the button (it does have a headlight picture on it) lights up in the same amber color as the others when driving at night.

The plus side of this is that I don't have an aftermarket light switch for my Hella 500's and I really like the clean look.
The down side is that the dealer charges $46.61 plus tax = $50.46
I think the clean look was worth the price.
