Anyone know how to change the fuel filter on a V6 4th gen ? I ordered it and it looks totally different from the 3rd Gen one that I'm use to.

I don't know about 3rd gen... I do know 4th gen has the fuel filter integrated into the fuel pump assy. The only way to get at it is to remove the 'in tank' fuel pump assy.

damn that sounds complicated, the 3rd gen was inline with the fuel hose on the frame. just 2 screws and 2 hoses .... so easy!

That is such poor engineering if that's true. It seems like Toyota does a lot of things right (like the location of the oil filter on the V6), but this one just doesn't make sense.

Either they never want you to replace the fuel filter, or they've designed the fuel pump to be short lived (thus knowing the filter would get changed).

Honestly, few people change fuel filters and while i've changed my share while hunting down a problem, i've never actually seen one that has stopped up flow.
