since i was very obsessed with the idea having the winch hidden, i have searched everywhere for the idea & how to get it done and hallallloya here it is and am sharing it now...successfully thank god i have pulled out Dodge ram 1500 , land cruiser 100 series , VW amrok and others without failure.. here you go the pictures & fee free to ask me anything about it... one more thing, i have designed it all by myself and made it with the assistance of my welder here in Egypt and costed me only $100.

That is really cool.
How is it bolted on?
If just to the stock frame ends, those are not designed to handle the stresses of being pulled on. They are designed to hold the bumper on and take inward impacts.

You may want to fully weld on those frame ends and also run some reinforcements reward on the frame.

Nice work !

A couple brackets to spread the load is all you would really need.

Edit; read your original post; seems like its working just fine the way it is.

Nice. I've been wanting to do this myself instead of just throwing down $1200 for a fancy custom bumper and accomplishing the same purpose. I like what you did and appreciate the pics!

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Gerdo, actually couple of reinforcement was made already to the chassis i just forgot to take pictures for them, will try to do that soon.

yes fedrlbiker...regarding drain holes, it is already done as well, a couple in the back end near control box and it is working just fine... just took my car for a wash & it works just fine. will try to get pics for that too soon.

Sungod, yes, i need to change my tires...just waiting for my fox suspension 2.5" lift to arrive & will get me a good set of tires accordinly ;)

BiBo - AWESOME JOB!

This is exactly what I want - can we get a fabricator to go ahead and produce a prototype in the US....anyone know someone that can get plans started on this???

I'm sure the cost would be considerably less, maybe $350 + winch?

Any updates on this?

Any chance this has produced enough interest to cause a fabricator to start making on of these? I would LOVE to get one!

i know it definitely would with the 3rd gens!!! I am going to try and fab something like this up for mine. all you need is a welder, chop saw, and some 3/16th plate steel. possibly a drill press too. he sure made that one look nice!

I want this.

EDIT: Why the hell don't we have a popcorn emoji?

we do :snacker:

Someone said, way back in like Jan or Feb, that CBI or budbuilt or someone was supposed to be releasing one in May or June of '12, but I've never heard anything else about it. I check their site every now and then to see if it's listed but obviously it isn't yet.

drain holes & reinforcement

those are latest pictures for the drain holes( 1 on each corner) & reinforcement (sorry the resolution is not excellent, will try to take a better one soon).

regarding fabrication, i could take the dimensions for you guys & you make it in US or i could even make it for you on cost basis over here yet the shipping cost will be too high as it weighs 26 kg (57.3 pound)
