4th gen holding its value compared to 3rd gen?

It is worth a premium to get a rust free vehicle. If you're happy with it, good enough. I see that the V6 had VVTi earlier than the V8, which was 05. Is it just the pic or is there a rust hole in your shock housing in that last pic?

Appreciate the price naming nonetheless, people can be so cagey about that. Probably cause people like me give them shit for it ;) For the record I paid $18k for my 07 GX, rust free TX truck, 100k miles, fully loaded, dealer maintained. Couple grand below KBB but a slight premium over other national options, and nearly 2000 miles to drive it home. Some people can't believe I did that but it was also worth it to me.
Damnit, it seems you've found the one rusty spot.....the other side is the same way. At least it's just the cover, so it doesn't seem like it's actually affecting anything.

EDIT: I realize this is somewhat off-topic, but will that rust affect anything? I'm used to cars with coilover struts am not familiar with the solid-axle rears that these have, and thus their individual components.

Two years ago I sold my 2004 SR5 4x4 6cyl (OME 3 in lift and Camburg UCA) for $12,500 - which I considered top dollar.

I really enjoyed that rig and loved on it from beginning to end. Zero issues and drama free ownership. The new owner got a solid Runner.

I hated to see it go but wanted something I could live out of when moto traveling. I built out a plane Jane tin can cargo Sprinter into a pretty slick moto camper. No regrets.

That's a jive looking 04. I fell in love with 3rd gen years ago but the 4th gen have grown o. Me. As I say this I just bought a 99 lol

Yes DC, I agree the 3rd gen Limiteds are classic and really hold up well with in the looks dept. And thanks for the compliment. Too bad I had such big meats cause the MGP stunk - like 15-17. I get a solid 21 with a van I can stand up in.

I did see it one time since it was sold and the kid put a bunch of silly stickers all over the back side window and it's parked outside now (lived inside when I had it) on the beach so it's exposed to the salt air 24-7. Can only guess that will really accelerate the aging process. It was sad but ya can't un-ring a bell.
