Did you do any manual calculations to see what you are actually getting in MPGs?

It's really the only way to know if the electronic calculations are correct, I don't trust the electronics calculations until I confirm they're correct.

Yes, I have my mpg figures using gallons to fill/total miles for 3.5+ years. But I was referring to a 15-minute stretch, not a full tank. Nobody’s averaging mpg that high.

Since Sept. 8, 2016, mileage on a full tank:

Lowest: 10.37 (full day of offroading)
Highest: 21.18 (road trip with a tailwind I’m sure)
Last: 17.68
Overall average: 17.29

Fuel prices in the same period:
Lowest: $1.13 (yesterday, with my .25/gal 76 discount)
Highest: $2.86
Avg.: $2.19

Wow, I didn’t realize this app also records miles per month. My average is 1,305, nothing special there, but I racked up 3,262 miles one month.

Of course they do, just not for long, and sometimes they get 6 mpg. Perhaps you meant no 4Runner averages 23 mpg. That’s a true statement. What you get for a tank is the average of all the increments, from very low (uphill under hard acceleration for example) to impossibly high (coasting down a mountain pass on a freeway).

I also agree that these T4R V6s and V8s certainly do/can get 23 MPG, as a matter of fact according to my OBDII dongle and app I have gotten well over 100 MPG with my V8 while going down a steep incline/bridge and giving it no gas pedal!!!

While that kind of mileage only last for a few short seconds I did indeed get that high of MPGs while it lasted, it can last even longer if you're going down a mountain!!

Towing two snowmobiles in winter I get 10 +/-

Not towing in summer:

On highway with cruise set at 70 I can push 18.5

Around town and daily commute 13-16 depending on how aggresive I drive.

4" suspension lift, 1.5" BL, 35's with a V8 I avg about 11.5mpg city BUT my speedo is also off because of the tire size difference, so it may be better than what my computer is showing me?

My 2007 V6 got 21.7 in 2009. Interstate between southern Oregon (strange gas) and the Bay Area in CA. Stock dunlops. Now bigger tyres and daily MPG is 15-17 around town.

This is what mine looks like. Same setup. Like someone else said, it all sucks so I basically quit caring. I calculate it from time to time just to make sure I'm not degrading significantly.

Oh and I find the OBC is consistently 2-3 MPG off, so I can usually just subtract a few MPG from what it's telling me and get a fairly close ball park.

All highway (road trips): 20 mpg w/ 75 mph cruise control
