I know, I'm kicking myself now for not saying anything. We were riding solo and it would've been less stressful to run more difficult runs with more people. I actually didn't run Hell's Revenge or Fins & Things for that reason. Next time...

I did notice a good amount of 4th gens too.

We're from the Northwest Suburbs as well!

Yeah, next time! I actually wondered if there was a group of 4th Gens there but everyone seemed to be solo, I half expected someone to join us but nobody did.

Arlington Hts/Palatine was my turf until college when my folks moved to Glenview. I moved to MN after getting married.

was running some 4 and 5 out of 5 trails at Barnwell mountain OHV (where jamboree is) with the trailriders. we were on the exit of Saturdaynight live that has a bunch of stair steps. the second to last one being 2-3 ft tall. but anyway i had the rear locked up and in low 1st, bumped up the step then managed to slam my front end into the next step. still made it up all the way, then had to bust out the spare parts.

I live in the northeast so a majority of our trails are tight wooded rocky trail which are awesome! But I am definitely jealous of all the stuff I see out west and plan to take trip out there to wheel and explore one of these days. I've wheeled everything from mild trails to trails that were for straight built rock crawlers and buggies and I love all of it! So after wheeling a little bit of everything I'm building my truck more towards a expedition style built but that still has the capabilities to get thru the tuff stuff if need be, and at the end of the day I still love getting and wheeling some good harder technical stuff from time to time.

OK, be kind. I am honestly usually quite cautious when I wheel, but this is me being crazy cautious and asking for a spot from a friend, so the video is extra long.



No skids and still with running boards has me tip-toeing around everything until I "armor up".

man id be so paranoid doing that with out sliders. ive gotten so used to just being able to slam em on anything and everything. Not only did you do it without sliders, but with running boards on, i cant tell if thats just massive balls or so kind of insanity/stupidity :hiding:
 
I'm in Denver and love CO & UT trails where I've been camping & 'wheeling for the past 15yrs.

I just sold my Land Cruiser and got my v8 Runner like a week ago, but I suspect the Runner is rather capable in stock form so I expect to be on MANY trails in the upcoming season. I only plan to do mods as they're needed, except for sliders because I'm not risking my rocker panels or doors.

If you see a 4Runnner on the trails with a Rocky Mtn Expedition Club sticker on the Windows, that's me. Feel free to say hi :-)
