4th Gen Owner Very Soon

So I started this account back in March because i absolutely loved looking at all the 4runners on here. I have wanted a 4runner ever since and now I'm finally about to get one for my first vehicle. It's a 2007 and its in the nautical blue metallic color. I'm so excited and and i can't wait for it to look exactly how i want in the future! If y'all could give me any tips/pointers i might need to know since this is going to be my first vehicle I'd appreciate it! :)

I bought a V6 lately. I was lamenting and thinking I should have bought a V8, because who doesn't enjoy a more powerful engine?

Enjoy whatever you decide to buy and make it your own.
Everyone on here has an opinion and you'll likely not like a lot of them but as long as you're happy with your truck, in the end, that's really all that matters.

Congrats on choosing a great truck to make your own.

PS. You can learn a lot by reading all the stickies and using the search feature to find topics of interest if you already haven't...

probably one of the cheapest and best bang for the buck mods you can do is swap out your oem sway bar bushings for a greasable poly set from and rear. along with the endlink bushings to poly... This is of course if you're going to keep your sway bars installed and are concerned with some decent street manners. measure your sway bars and order energy or prothane greasable sway bar bushing kits from summitt or jegs (wherever you find them cheapest)...

I agree V8's are awesome. The first car i bought in high school was a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer V8 and that thing hauled.

I decided on the V6 t4r 8 years later because it didn't lack the power as I had expected (compared to the V8 4x4runner I test drove) and I had a higher priority on gas mileage. I've been surprised by how much I don't miss my V8, especially after hauling a 4-wheeled u-haul trailer from auburn to houston and back in 2 days.

Well since I'm 17 my dad wanted me to get a V6 and not the V8 for less power and better gas mileage haha and I found out last night he has already picked it up. So it's sitting here at the house somewhere he's just hiding it from me :)

Very cool your dad did that for you! I hope to do the same for my kids some day. Enjoy your beast, 4runners are awesome :)

Where do you hide a 4Runner!? Lol

I ultimately went with a V6 citing a need for better gas mileage. And it's really only 4.0 vs 4.7. I guess to me, every morning I fire up the truck, I'm still I bit aww stricken at the roar of the motor. The V6 is great already!!! V8 would have been nice if you were towing something large. I was moving from a very quiet I6 3.0 from my ol' Lexus.

Haha I was wondering the same thing but we live on a good bit of land so it's out there somewhere, and I'm glad to hear you enjoy the V6 I can't wait to crank it up and take it for a spin!

Very nice! As a 17y.o. with my Runner being my first vehicle as well, I can say that it has been great for the last 3 months. You'll definitely love it :rockon:
