4th Gen Rear Tweeter Location

I have replaced the head unit in my '06 SR-5 with a Pioneer D3 and am now looking to install new speakers and an amp. I will be installing 6-1/2" Infinity Kappa's in the front and am contemplating between components and standard 2-ways (again 6-1/2") for the rear.

If I install the components in the rear, where is the best place for the tweeter? Pictures of other install locations and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rear Tweeters

i have an '03 sport so i would assume the interiors of our cars are relatively identical.

I don't have components in the rear but i do have these two relatively soccer-mom-ish plastic mirrors near the ceiling in the back of the car that seem to be intended to help you not run over kids in the costco parking lot. i believe are the factory locations for tweeters as well if you have the upgraded JBL system, i've also seen people put after-market components in there..

i don't know how easy it would be to mount them but having had that panel out there's definitely space... maybe you have the mirrors? maybe just plastic covers? They're on the left and right of the rear interior pillar coverings. (just in front of the rear glass

I do have the mirrors on mine and comtemplated putting speakers back there as well. I really had not given thought to using the component tweaters that far back, but it may be another alternative. From what I have seen on other posts, it sounds like one of the challenges in using that location is finding speaker covers to replace the mirrors.

Are the speakers covers (used instead of the mirrors) becoming more readily available?

Thanks!
