4th Gen. SE V8 Performance Stories

I'd love to hear from owners of 4th generation SE V8s about the performance of your trucks.
What's the fastest you've driven it?
How's the acceleration and cornering on different road conditions?
What's the gnarliest off road driving you've done in it?
Ever driven it on a track?
Tell me some stories.
My new SE will arrive next week, and that's about all I can think about.

Hmmm...not really sure if this counts as a performance story. But me and my buddies mancation last spring, I towed 5 motorcycles, people and luggage about 1000 miles down to Miami from Maryland......and back.

Not 1 hiccup. V8 power is great!

Yes, stories about Feats of Strength are encouraged too. After all, soon it will time for Festivus.
And Koz, thanks for that top speed thread.

I recently moved from one house to another and considered renting a moving truck but then realized I had plenty of power to pull a trailer instead. I borrowed my friend's 12'x6' enclosed trailer and filled it up at least 10 times moving back and forth and to be honest most of the time I couldn't even tell I was pulling anything. I was very impressed with the towing performance and very happy I got the V8 this time around. :D

speedo goes to 110 but itll do like 116-119 i do it every chance i get
including last night

270 degree highway off ramps at 65 with one hand on the wheel. X-reas does justice.

when it snowed last week it was my first time driving in the snow. you could barely feel that it was slippery outside.

and with the vsc off, the donuts in empty parking lots are uncomparable to any rear wheel drive suv

have fun with your truck

I have a somewhat dated kill list in the revived 0-60 thread:

You can add a bunch of kills to that list and one arse-raping.

Had an '02 F-250 eat my lunch from a dig, from 40, from 60 and from 80. Everytime I punched it I'd jump out a few lengths until his huge turbo in his 7.3 powerstroke would spool up (which I could hear every time), a huge black cloud of coal would pour out and he'd simply walk right past me. From what I could see he had exhaust and a computer upgrade (saw the controller sitting on his dash). Jesus.

One notable kill was a couple nights ago I took a late model X5 4.4i to 40 mph by half a length until we had to shut them down. Short but sweet.

Oh the trips I have taken in this vehicle...
I towed a VW passout from Tucson to Birmingham and both vehicles were loaded with 600 lbs or more in them. 2300 plus miles two 200 lb plus guys a 70lb dog and a car trailer with a 3000 lb passout with 600 lbs worth of crap packed into it... Not one problem, I had to look back to make sure I was pulling a trailer, granted it was all down hill, (not really, but elevation wise 5000 feet to 300 feet above see level) the 4Runner just took off like nothing was behind it. This is a great truck/suv... As far as off roading goes I have some problems with it, but then again it could be my driving skills in the mud. You will love your truck!!! I sure as hell do!!!

have fun

I just noticed in your profile you have written "Fastest N/A Member". Sorry Bud, but that belongs to me! Yours should read "Quickest". You'll need to post a GPS reading higher then 116 mph to get the
