4th Gen seat adjustments

I am considering getting a 4th gen SR5 4runner....actually, I am almost certainly getting one, so I have been watching discussions to learn as much as I can.

When we last test-drove a 4runner, the passenger seat seamed to slope away from the passenger making it so the back of the knees/thighs didn't rest all the way on the cushion. My wife didn't like this, so the issue could threaten my plans...ARGH!

I read in a review that both front seats have a knob that tilts the seat bottom. I didn't see the knob. I know the driver-side allows you to adjust the seat-bottom cushion angle....

Does the passenger seat-bottom cushion tilt?

I have the sr5 and I don't recall the passenger side being able to tilt. It just has the recline and slide forward/back.

That's right, the passenger side does not have the knob. The driver's side knob does not so much adjust the tilt angle - mostly it raises the front of the seat. There is a lever on the driver's side that adjusts the tilt angle and the seat height at the same time.

Other threads have indicated problems with the seat adjustments slipping, and the seat becoming loose when the knob is adjusted all the way up.

I think the SR-5 seats are pure junk, like you'd find in an $8000 Daewoo or something. Our first two-hour trip showed me what an awful mistake I had made buying the 4Runner.

I've been reading anything and everything on the 4th gen 4Runners and I don't recall many complaints about the seats. I believe the SR5 seats are the same as the sport seats are the same as the limited seats (except leather)?

How sad! How sad that you can judge such an awesome car on that! I have noticed that there is a SLIGHT angle on the passenger seat but I hardly regret buying it over that! I'm also sure that there is something that can be done about it, if it's really that bad.
I highly recommend the 4Runner! We have had other SUV's and have driven in others and this is a great ride.
Good luck!
