Hey guys, I've heard that there are some problems with lifting the sport because of stock shocks(try sayin that 4 times fast haha) Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks

The main problem is with the XREAS system. Do a search for LIFT and XREAS...this should get you started on why it's more difficult.

I agree with Thai to do a search but to give you a quick reply..

You can lift your Sport with XREAS, using spacers which will give you a max of 3" of lift. There will be no problems doing this. Your XREAS will remain connected and operational. Many people use spacers for looks or practical uses (offroad clearance) with no problems. Going higher than 3" will likely cause your shock to start leaking as has happened to some people in the past.

You can search for spacers using these words SPACER LIFT, REVTECH, DAYSTAR, CORNFED.

Your alternative after that; you need to look at replacing your shocks (and coils) with something like OME (Old Man Emu), Donahoe etc, that may give you slightly more lift than spacers but much improved handling and greater capacity for offroad and weight carrying.

Search away. There's heaps on this topic.

Cheers
Mark

I got the 2.5" daystar lift. I love mine and dont regret a minute of it. Ride is still great.

well if it has better handling without, then why would anyone want the xreas

The X-REAS gives you better handling than a stock T4R without it (w / X-REAS your truck doesn't lean so much in fast corners).

If you decide to totally remove the X-REAS and go with an aftermarket setup, it's possible to get something that feels as good as, or even slighty better than an X-REAS equipped 4Runner.

Personally, I have and LOVE my X-REAS equipped 4Runner with it's 1 inch Cornfed lift! :D
