4th Gen suspension question - newb alert

Picked up this 06 SE a week or so ago. Love it! Currently there are 265/65/17's installed. The plan is to replace the tires and install 265/70/17's in an AT tread, not sure which flavor yet.

Right off I noticed the rake and want to level it out. From the ground to the top point of wheel well in front is 33" - Rear is 35.5"

Last week I snagged a used Daystar spacer kit from another T4R member - the kit was 2.5/1.5 and I anticipated that would do it...then I measured and now I'm confused.

The truck is already 2.5" lower in the front, so installing said kit will still leave me 1" taller in the rear. My question is...

Is it normal to have a stock rake of -2.5" in the front? Is there any reference to what the heights should be at stock level?

The rake is normal and just about all of the spacer kits with raise the front 1" more than the rear. This will put your rocker panels just about level... usually just a little lower in the front, but it'll appear level. Check out the "Lift and Tire" sticky thread for lots of pics!!

Thanks Doozi, it's the math that's throwing me. I'm really not interested in lifting the rear at all if I don't have to, just bringin the front up to match the rear. I'll keep reading in the sticky you mentioned and look for an "aha" moment.

Put the front and rear spacers in. If you have the wheel wells matching, then it's going to "look" much higher in the front and have a "bro-lean" with all the angle lines of your rig aiming towards the front.

The 4R is like a wedge abs the rear wheel well needs to be a bit higher to actually be level.

Cool thing is that you can do the front and then decide from there. (But you'll probably decide to do the rear too after seeing it)

I think the math is confusing you because in the front you get about double the lift that the spacer is. So a 1.5" spacer in the front gives you about 3" of lift.

However in the rear it's a 1:1 ratio.

In the front, just based on the IFS geometry. Usually the lift you get is double the spacer thickness.

Oh really? Learned something new today. So a 2.5 =5? Plus fj coils would net me another 1.25 plus 33" tires another 3" then I should be at like 4 feet of the ground by then lol I did go from 31.5" to 38" after my suspension refresh. Lot of the height gain for me would be from replacing the sagging old Springs.

No, the 2.5 on the DS kit refers to the net lift, not the thickness of the spacer. if you measure the spacer it should be around 1.25".

The "budget boost" kit is a 1" spacer that yields about 2" of lift.

Whats your wheel center-fender measurement in the rear? I just put my FJ coils in the back the other day.

i am at 38"front and 39" in the rear right now.

i think the ds spacer is thicker than 1.25"

Just went and measured mine. Spacer looks about 1.6ish" and I'm at about 38.5/37.5
