4th Gen Tires

I have been looking to take the 265/75/16 AT Goodyear Conquests off my 1996 SR5 with OEM rims and put them on my 2003 SR5. I purchased the '03 recently, with Enkei rims. They seem pretty stock - while shopping for it, I saw another one in IL with the same rims. They're pretty much stock. The current tires on the '03's rims are 265/70/16 Michelins that were destined for no more than asphalt.

My mechanic is convinced that these tires aren't compatible, but from what I see on tirerack.com and such, I think they are.

Any suggestions?

I didn't realize the gen 4 had an option for 16" wheels. I don't see an issue with the diameter as long as 16" wheels clear the brakes.

As long as they clear the caliper, your ok. my 08 came stock with 16" rims, and have a
2nd set of 17" from my 04 I got rid of. Having 2 sets of rims can be handy when you have more of extreme off road tires on 1 set and street tires on the other.

That'll be close to the same size as the 265/65/17 that most 4runners come with.

I plan to keep the rims as they are, I was mostly concerned with if I could put the 265/75/16 tires on the rims currently holding 265/70/16s.
