4th gen V6 at dragstrip

Just for fun, always wondered if I could hit a 15.9@XX. Close but no cigar. Weight was 4470 with driver (230lbs) and spare. Barely any gas but light was not on.

Just have to ask... 2Hi or 4Hi? In a drag race will it even attempt to spin the rear tires? I wouldn't think so but if it did it might turn a better time in 4hi as there would be no interference from the VSC coming off of the line.

That ET puts the V6 Rav4 in perpective too If not mistaken it turned a 14.9 and gets 22mpg. It's still a chick car but more cool than some of the others :biggrin2:

Thats pretty dam quick for the rav 4. I know the runner is not a race car but it has some pretty good pickup for 4000+lbs. All runs were in 2wd. Only mod on the runner is plus size tires. They VHT the track but the last and best run of 16.2 I saw the vsc light up so I lost traction slightly

I was the only SUV out there They kept staging me with 10sec beasts. Just went to see what it would do. 115k on the odo and still going strong.

Sounds like great fun! Might have turned a 16.1 in 4hi but slow is slow so it really doesn't matter...

As my high school buddies aged they all moved from rice rockets to Harley's. They affectionately proclaim they're going to do some turtle racing as they head off for a Sunday afternoon ride. It's all about what's fun and enjoyable. :cheers:

Wow, that's cool. I've been wanting to do the same thing at my local dragstrip. Wonder how a V8 would fair?

I seen a few posts of people getting mid 15s with the V8 and just a tick slower with the V6.

The new Sequoia with the 5.7 turned a 14.7 in the most recent MotorTrend.

I met this guy at last year's Truckfest held at Bandimere outside of Morrison and is 5800ft above sea level;his truck had a TRD exhaust and intake and was running 15.7s up here which would be about a full second quicker at sea level.

I was about 600ft above sea level and weather was low 70's high 60's. My last run was the best, maybe cause of the cooler air. Should have dumped the spare and might have saw 15's
