4th generation superchargers from TRD

In looking through the threads I dont see anyone clear thread on the 4.0 v6 engine where someone has installed a suerpcharger from TrD. In looking at their site the dont list a fit kit for the unit, however its the same engine that is in the tacoma... has anyone put one of those on? or is there another way folks are going to add a blower on to it?

There has been a lot of chatter about supercharging the 4th gen 4runners on the board but in all my searching I have not found anyone that has actually done this either. When I was looking into this before, it appears that mechanically you can get the FJ kit to work. You might have to fabricate some mounting brackets and possible replace some parts like the water inlet housing, etc, but mechanically it will work. The real issue is the software update that is needed to reprogram the ECU. Since there is no kit there is no flash for the ECU so you would need to find a shop that could reprogram the ECU to work correctly. URD (- Underdog Racing Development) is / was creating a kit for the 4th gens but it’s been under development for like a year or more and it’s somewhere around 5,000 plus.

The URD kit is done but there are no tuning devices for the rotrex supercharger. TRD works but like stated above you'll need a EMS to tune it. MAP2ecu could work as well as a haltech unit, but the proven way is the apr x1 but since they don't make them anymore the map2 or the haltech would be your best bet for tuning. There are some 4runners running the TRD supercharger but I don't know there EMS systems
