4th genners with V6 & V8...mpg's??

was wondering what kind of number's you're getting....the specs are only 1mpg difference right?....was wondering about "real world" numbers.....btw my 3rd gen gets me between 19-21.......my 3.slow gets a whopping 13-17

On mine, I get 16-18 in the city, up to 22.4 on the highway, all in 2WD mode. I've not driven a full tank in 4WD mode so I don't have numbers to provide.

BTW, that's measured by dividing miles driven by gallons used, not by using the display on the computer.

4X4 V8 2004 - Average speed 23 to 25 mph (gotta love these freeways here) - Regular Gas - Measured mileage of either side of 15 mpg

Where I have an average speed of 63 to 65 the measured mileage increases to about 18 mpg.

i have only 200 miles on the 4runner so im hoping the mpg will go up after the break-in period.

Here are my numbers:

My ride to work is 82 miles/day round trip - all highway doing about 70 - 75 mph. On the computer I'm getting 20.8 miles/gallon. Based on reading other posts my mpg is most likely a bit overstated, but not bad for a V8. I'm also running on regular gas.

That is pretty good! In winter, I fell as low as 12 mpg.

YIKES!!.. .....looks like 15ish is around the norm for a v8....still better than my 3.0 and tons more power to boot!

I noticed (or at least the computer did) a 1 mpg increase in mileage after I put in a K&N air filter.

V6 in 2WD

Consistent average is 15mpg (calculated using tripmeter and actual amount of gas used), with an average speed readout of about 24mph on the computer. I drive 9 miles each way to work. Several stop lights and 45mph max each way.
But when I went to Okemo Mt. to ski last month, whoo baby, the real mileage was 22.3mpg round trip. All highway and mountains. The computer said 24mpg. It's always off close to 10% of readout. Wish I could calibrate it.

Gas Mileage

I have owner my V8 4Runner for a year now. In pure city driving I have gotten a low of 14 MPG(these are U.S. figures) and a high of 19 MPG on the highway. These are figured out dividing the miles by the gallons. These are worse than my 1999 4Runner but the V8 power is worth it(though gas prices lately and by the sounds of the future will test this idea!!!!!!).
I use regular fuel. I have tried premium, NO difference at all.

My commute is 100miles round trip on the highway with speeds around 60-75. I'm consistently getting 21-23 (miles/gallon) mpg with my 2WD V6.
