4th to 5th gen rear caliper, do I need new pads?

Last year about 7000 miles ago got all new calipers/pads/rotors except both rear calipers. Now the left rear caliper is kinda stuck causing heat and burning smell. The right rear wheel doesn't turn freely but according to the mechanic it's still ok for a bit.

I want to upgrade to 5th gen rear calipers. Reading on the forum it seems it will fit the 4th gen rear rotors. But, do I need new 5th gen rear pads, and maybe new brackets and hoses?

Also, any recommendation for which brand should I get?

Just did the upgrade. I went with 5th gen rotors but they are the same size. Just a little different bore size for the 5th gens. Save yourself the headache and leave on yours if they are still good lol. The e-brake can be a pain in the ass when removing those rotors. The calipers are direct bolt ons and fit perfectly. I went ahead and replaced the pads with 5th gen ones for a couple reasons. Even if the ones you currently have aren't that worn down, the heat from sticking brakes will basically glaze over the pads and they wont work properly.

I'm trying to find an answer to this myself because the rear pads and shims are NOT the same 4th gen vs 5th gen, though they will install just the same.
