4wd So CALI ppl: smog check/dyno??

where do i go for 4wd smog check and dyno pulls?

I figure that since your truck is OBD II compliant they don't need to do the dyno pulls for the smog check? Maybe in Cali you do? I thought all they did was plug in the scan tool in your OBD port and pull the information that way... I haven't had to smog my truck yet so I'm not sure and my last vehicle had OBD I...

I would there is... the only exception are diesel vehicles.

the dyno pull and smog check are two different categories.


i would like to know where i can get a dyno run to see where i stand and a place to smog check for future registrations.

You will not have to smog check your new Runna for the first 4 years if you purchased it new in the state of Califunky!

2 years ago when I brought my Camry in for a smog check dyno I had just bought the 4Runner V8 4WD so I was asking about this. They said that they didn't have a dyno for full time 4WD so instead they had to do some sort of extra inspection, at additional charge.

damn... i dont like the additional cost part.

but i guess that came with the car.

not sure where you would get small checks (but since you're in CALI don't worry for a long time). As for dyno's any good performance shop will be able to drop you some names/numbers on places that have dyno beds for both fwd/rwd/awd.
