4wd troubleshooting

Ok I’ve tried searching for my issue on here but only find info on the ADD.
I have a 98 limited with the push button 4wd, found a mouse nest under the rear seat where jack is stored. It sat for five years before I rescued it. I have a bad transfer case switch, when I jump it out I can get the ADD to engage, the 4wd push button tested bad and nothing changes if I jumper that out, would like to figure out where the other end is to jump it there to make sure no wires were chewed and if not how to get the transfer case actuator to engage. This is only going to be a trail rig so I don’t mind installing switches to engage 4wd.
I tried searching but could only find the ADD troubleshooting . I did find some wiring diagrams in one thread that I’m printing out and going to go through shortly.

Update: I have continuity between white/Black from the 4wd button and ground.
Can’t determine where the pink from the push button is going, everywhere I find a pink I have no continuity between the two ends.

I don’t think I have the correct wire diagram, can not find the push button on it or the transfer case actuator, I only assumed the white with black goes the ground as others on that diagram do.

Next question...is the 4wd ECU behind the glovebox???
Also your pic didn’t work, and would probably be a big help

It's a .pdf '98 Toyota EWD. Are you on a phone? I'm pretty sure that's a good file--I post them all the time, but you may need to be on a computer with a .pdf reader. Throw the crap you posted away; it's useless.

Maybe someone else can confirm the file works.

I don't have the 4wd ECU in my rig, but I think it is in the left side kick panel.

I got it from a forum member I helped with a auto to manual swap. I don't have the whole manual, but I'll send you what I have if you PM me an e-mail address.

Or you can spend $15 and buy a two-day pass to TIS and download it yourself, plus whatever else you want.

Update: working my way down the service hints, made it down to 15-Ground...I have no voltage at 15
Anyone have any ideas, am I supposed to be testing while plugged into 4wd ecu, going to try that when I get back home.

Tested with ecu plugged in and have voltage at 15
Next I tested 14 and no voltage, plan to pull the switches out of the transfer case and test all of them.

Update: after hours of research, troubleshooting, tearing the interior out, and more troubleshooting it is now working...
Last night I found a plug on the transmission which had the wires chewed by mice(it is a 3 wire plug behind the shift linkage) after fixing that it still didn’t work.
This morning I decided to put power directly to the actuator and it worked, reached up and front driveshaft was locked, reversed polarity and unlocked it, locked it back up and for shits and giggles I plugged the harness back in reached in turn the key on and the actuator kicked on taking it back out of 4wd, flipped the toggle switch I installed since the switch on the shifter knob tested bad and the son of a ***** shifted back into 4wd....I’m at a loss but hey it’s working now....time to put everything back together
