Hey guys, I tried to find some info on this, and I found a post that said to switch the vaccuum lines undernear the front diff, drive, then switch back.

Are there any other things I need to look into? Solenoids, Actuators, Switches, etc?

Seems like it does into 4wd sometimes but I'm not sure.

Tried to play in the mud tonight and the damn thing couldn't go up a little hill.

oh yeah forgot to mention my 4wd indicator light doesn't come on in any gear.... 4H or 4L... hear a click in the dash though... could be burnt out? dunno

SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so there is a vaccum reservoir for the ADD system in the passenger front fenderwell (under the truck). the above link tells you about that.

Ok so here's something that page doesn't tell you about....

the feed line to the vaccum res has a tiny 1 way valve/filter (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO) on it. i checked vaccum on the engine side of the filter, everything was fantastic, much vaccum. on the other side of the filter/valve there was hardly any vaccum.

i guess these things get dirty and need to be replaced once in a while. i took it off and i can barely blow air through it. POS.

i have the vaccum line ran directly to my solenoids now, bypassing the reservoir. 4wd works fantabulous. went and played in the mud a little.

now the 4wd light also comes on in the instrument cluster as well.

this bypass will work fine til i can get down to the dealership to order a new filter/valve. (can't get it at the local parts stores)

Wow... ok so I called on the part from toyota...

PN: 917-10065

FUCKING $55.01 at one dealership $53.03 at another.

Fuck that shit, I'm gonna replace it with a GM style check valve.
